Shutehaven Buoys Mark Proposed Marina Lease

Three temporary marker buoys approximately 900mm in diameter have been recently installed in Shute Harbour by Shute Harbour Marina Development Pty Ltd.

The buoys mark the southern extremity of the proposed Shute Harbour marina and will be used to assist the community consultation process by visually locating the boundaries of the proposed marina.

Approved for installation by Maritime Safety Queensland (Mackay), the highly visible red/orange buoys are labelled “Temporary Marker – Not Suitable for Anchoring”.

The positions of the three marker buoys are as follows:

A – latitude 20° 17.604’ S, longitude 148° 46.500’ E

B – latitude 20° 17.698’ S, longitude 148° 46.531’ E

C – latitude 20° 17.698’ S, longitude 148° 47.024’ E

The buoys will be in place for approximately three months until March 2008 and mariners are advised to navigate the area with caution. Please click here to view the marker buoy map.
