Shute Harbour Marina Development Pty Ltd proposes to develop an integrated marina, resort hotel and residential community at Shute Harbour comprising a marina facility with 669 berths, 4 ½ star resort precinct, marina plaza, marina office and amenities, charter boat base, interpretive and cultural centre, managed resort accommodation on 117 freehold allotments, public esplanade and car parking facilities.

The Coordinator-General has declared the project to be a ‘significant project’ requiring an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) under Section 26(1)(a) of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (Qld). The Australian Government has determined that the project constitutes a controlled action pursuant to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cwlth). The EIS process is being coordinated by the Department of Infrastructure and Planning on behalf of the Coordinator-General.

 

Environmental Impact Statement

You are invited to have your say on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Shute Harbour Marina Resort, prepared by Shute Harbour Marina Development Pty Ltd (SHMD) by clicking here.

The EIS can be viewed online here or on the Coordinator-General’s website www.dip.qld.gov.au/eis and is also available for review during business hours from Monday 3 November 2008 to Monday 15 December 2008 at Proserpine, Mackay and Airlie Beach Libraries and the State Library of Queensland, Brisbane.
